New Microsoft Project Pink phone specs surface

After seeing Microsoft's "Turtle" phone pass through the FCC, we learned that the device would be able to run on a CDMA network. WMExperts now has some more juicy information to share with us about Project Pink. Conflipper, who is apparently a well known and reliable source for Microsoft and Windows Mobile news, is said to be in possession of the device's firmware. Here are some of the details he was able to gather from the code:

  • 'Turtle' = GSM version; 'Pride' = CDMA
  • 'Pure' = GSM version; 'Lion' = CDMA
  • 'Turtle' = 320x240 resolution
  • 'Pure' = 480x320 resolution
  • Strong connection to Nvidia Tegra
  • Looks to be CE6 (Windows CE 6?)
  • References to 'PMX' ("Premium Mobile Experiences") throughout

The "Pride" and "Lion" codenames are new. It's also nice to finally get an idea of the screen size that the devices will sport. Whether these phones will run the new Windows Phone 7 Series OS or not remains to be seen. It's also possible that these could be the next generation of Sidekick devices. The devices also seem to have a very strong tie to Silverlight and it's said that it may power the phone's UI.
