Nexus owners report numerous bugs in bug-fixing Android 4.4.3 update

Google began its rollout of the newest update to Android earlier this month, bringing the latest version of the OS up to 4.4.3. The update brings nothing significant in the way of new features to Android, but is intended to fix various issues and bugs, including enhanced stability, more reliable Exchange ActiveSync support and improved battery performance.

But some of those who have installed the update on their devices have seen new bugs and problems spring up, as Android Origin reports. Some owners of the Nexus 4 and 5 smartphones - and, to a lesser degree, the Nexus 7 and 10 tablets - have reported experiencing one or more of the following:

  • Issues with Wi-Fi connectivity (and a handful of reports of 3G connectivity issues)
  • Random reboots (particularly on the Nexus 4, which also had this issue in Android 4.4.2)
  • Problems with notifications
  • Battery life issues
  • Various errors in the Google Play store
  • Unspecified problems with Exchange ActiveSync
  • Bugs in certain apps, which did not occur in Android 4.4.2
  • Lag in the redesigned Android dialer (particularly affecting the Nexus 5)

It must be stressed that these issues are not affecting all devices, although certain models are experiencing particular bugs more than others, as highlighted in the list above.

Google has not yet acknowledged these reported problems publicly, so it is unclear whether or not the company is working on a fix to resolve them. If you've experienced any of these issues - or others - since updating to Android 4.4.3, be sure to let us know in the comments below.
