The NFL, EA Sports and Rogers Video will be holding 20 regional competitions to find Canada's top Madden NFL 07 players.
Madden NFL football, which is entering its 17th year, is one of the most popular sports videogame franchises of all time having sold more than 51 million copies. The Canadian EA SPORTS Madden Challenge will be held at Rogers Video locations across the country on November 12, 2006.
Winners of each regional tournament will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Toronto to participate in the national final next January.
The Canadian winner will then go up against winners from Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong and 26 U.S. cities at the International finals in Honolulu, Hawaii. The finals will take place during Pro Bowl Week (week of Feb. 8, 2007).
The grand prize winner gets a cheque for $100,000 while the winners of each regional competition (including Canada) receive $1,000.
Registration for all regional tournaments, contest details can be found here. Registration begins October 3 2006. Each regional tournament will feature 32 participants with participants being selected by random draw from all eligible registrants.
