Nokia 3.1 Plus and 8110 4G launches in India

HMD Global is certainly not stopping its rapid expansion in India, as it has just announced a fresh new Android One smartphone in the country in the form of the Nokia 3.1 Plus.

The device could be called a well-kept secret, as there weren't any leaks associated with it until the official reveal. The event also saw the Finnish startup announce the India pricing and availability of the Nokia 8110 4G feature phone which was launched earlier this year at Mobile World Congress.

With the Nokia 3.1 Plus, HMD Global's 2018 lineup now includes three Plus models and there are rumors of a Nokia 7.1 Plus coming soon as well. The 3.1 Plus is an affordable mid-range device which features a 6-inch HD+ screen with an IPS LCD panel and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by 2GB or 3GB of RAM, a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 16GB or 32GB of storage, and a 3,500 mAh battery to keep it powered for the day.

On the imaging front, HMD Global has packed a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel dual-camera combo on the back, and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The device is also part of the Android One program similar to other Nokia devices and is said to receive two major Android updates one of which would be the Android Pie update.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus is priced at a price of ₹11,499 ($155) in India, but HMD Global hasn't revealed the variant's details. In other countries, the price is set for €159. The Nokia 8110 4G is priced at ₹5,999 ($81). Both the devices would be sold through online and offline channels.
