Nokia 3.1 Plus running Android 9.0 spotted on Geekbench

HMD Global could soon be rolling out the Android Pie 9.0 update for the entry-level Nokia 3.1 Plus. A Nokia 3.1 Plus device was spotted on Geekbench running Android 9 Pie. Currently, the latest official update from HMD Global is the January Android security patch and the device is running Android Oreo 8.1, which the phone released with back in October.

The phone is part of the Android One programme which ensures timely security patches and promises two years of software updates. The programme is available for devices across Europe, USA, and a range of developing countries like India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. Based on the sighting, Android Pie may roll out soon.

Specifications wise, the Nokia 3.1 Plus sports a 6-inch HD+ (720 x 1440p) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a 3500mAh battery, a 12nm octa-core MediaTek chipset running at 2.0GHz with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It hosts a combination of a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The device is available in two configurations, one with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM, and the second with 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM.
