Nokia 7.1's Geekbench scores confirm a Snapdragon 710 and 6GB of RAM

Nokia has been making major moves in the midrange market over the past few months with the launch of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and, earlier this month, the Nokia 7.1. The one thing missing from the lineup, and which we've heard so much about, is the latter's larger sibling, the Nokia 7.1 Plus.

The company is expected to unveil the phone at either its launch event in India tomorrow, or at a Chinese event on October 16. Regardless of when HMD officially announces it, we now have proof corroborating earlier rumours about the phone's specifications.

A Geekbench listing for the Nokia X7 (HMD's name for the phone in China) shows The 7.1 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 710 and boasts an impressive 6GB of RAM. The Qualcomm-made processor is clocked at a frequency of 1.71GHz and was able to achieve a score of 1,827 in the single core results and 5,937 on the multi-core score.

The benchmarks also indicate the device is still running Android 8.1. Hopefully, that'll change soon, given HMD Global has already made Android 9.0 Pie available to Nokia 6.1 Plus owners via a beta, with an official release expected sometime this month. It would, indeed, be rather awkward if the 6.1 Plus got its piece of the Pie before its newer, and presumably more expensive, sibling.
