Popular PC components manufacturer NZXT has released the latest entry into its N7 motherboard lineup. This product, however, is a bit different from its usual N7 boards as it will be the first AMD-based motherboard that the firm releases. NZXT has stuck to the simple naming scheme it generally uses for the N7 series and is calling the new board the 'N7 B550' as it'll be based on the B550 chipset.
In terms of features, the N7 B550 has a 12+2 DrMOS Power Phase design for power delivery and handling, and sports a decent six-layer PCB. It claims to support memory frequencies of up to 4733MHz using XMP but even the latest Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 series processors have a hard time reaching such highs. Speaking of the Ryzen processors, the N7 B550 should be compatible with Ryzen 3000, 4000, and 5000 series CPUs.
When it comes to connectivity, the board hosts a couple of M.2 connectors as an option for expanding storage, though information regarding SATA connectivity and USB ports and such, isn't available at this time. The N7 B550 carries the latest Intel Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity and features Bluetooth v5.2.
Aesthetically, the board is designed to go well with the firm's H Series cases and features a black or white metal cover. The four RGB lighting channels (third-party RGBs included) and the seven other fan channels can be controlled with the help of NZXT's CAM software.
The NZXT B550 has been priced at $229.99 which is the same as that of the Z490 variant. The Z590 version is also releasing next month so we'll know more about that soon.
