The OnePlus 2 is now receiving a new over-the-air update - but many of the handset's owners are dissatisfied with the limited improvements that it brings.
OxygenOS 3.1.0 is making its way to the OnePlus 2, and according to the company's release notes, this is what it includes:
- Fixed some notification issues
- Improved Doze Mode performance
- Added media sound toggle for alert slider
- Addressed alert slider/silent mode issue
- Implemented August 1 security patches for Android
- Implemented Quadrooter patch
- General bug fixes
Notably, the update brings a patch for the QuadRooter vulnerability that affects a large number of Android devices, details of which were revealed by security researchers last month.
But in a thread on the company's forums, many OnePlus 2 owners voiced their displeasure over the limited improvements in the latest update. Some were unhappy that there was no fix for camera image compression quality issues; others lamented the absence of an update to add VoLTE (voice over LTE) support; and many complained that various other bugs haven't yet been fixed, months after the last update was released for the handset.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has begun the process of merging OxygenOS with its China-only HydrogenOS.
