OnePlus 8 Lite renders leak, OnePlus' first mid-range smartphone in four years

OnePlus is said to be working on its first mid-range smartphone since the 2015 OnePlus X, the OnePlus 8 Lite. Detailed CAD renders of the unannounced handset have leaked giving one a clear look at its design.

As the naming scheme indicates, the OnePlus 8 Lite will supposedly be a toned down version of the OnePlus 8 that will have slightly inferior specs and a lower price point.

The renders show the phone coming with a centered punch-hole display and a camera bump at the rear that looks similar to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S11. The rear hump houses dual-camera sensors along with an LED flash. The phone seemingly also has a ToF sensor. The second camera sensor is likely going to be an ultra-wide angle one.

The front is dominated by a flat OLED panel that is said to measure 6.4-inch or 6.5-inches. The rear glass, however, is shown to be curved likely to help with ergonomics. It is unclear if the display will have a 90Hz or higher refresh rate or not.

The renders don't show a physical fingerprint scanner which hints at the handset coming with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Other specs from the renders include an alert slider, a USB-C port at the bottom, and no headphone jack. The phone is estimated to roughly measure 159.2 x 74 x 8.6mm. Other details about the OnePlus 8 Lite are scarce at the moment, but if the leaks prove to be true, the device will likely launch alongside the OnePlus 8 in the first half of 2020.
