OnePlus Buds said to support Warp Charge technology

OnePlus’ first-ever truly wireless earbuds – OnePlus Buds – will launch alongside the OnePlus Nord smartphone on July 21. Ahead of the official launch, we are being treated to some interesting tidbits on the upcoming product. The latest information is regarding the Buds’ charging technology.

The upcoming OnePlus Buds case is said to support the company’s Warp Charge technology. It will help offer 10 hours worth of usage with just 10 minutes of charging. This was revealed by OnePlus Buds’ Project Manager Jay Liu in an interview with TechRadar.

Liu further adds that users will be able to fast charge the OnePlus Buds using any 10W and above charger. The company however is said to be limiting the charging at 5v 1.5A to avoid damaging the 430mAh Lithium Ion battery inside the case.

Earlier this week in a blog post, CEO Pete Lau revealed that the earbuds alone will last up to seven hours on a single charge. When put into the charging case, they will be able to offer up to 30 hours usage.

To put all of this into context, the Apple AirPods offer five hours worth of audio playback with 15 minutes of charging. With the charging case, the total usage goes up to 24 hours.
