OnePlus Launcher arrives to the Google Play Store, but most won't be able to install it

OnePlus has been in the news quite a bit lately for issues here and there in regards to its latest handset, the OnePlus 5. Beyond the bad press, the company has been making moves by breaking apart components of its OxygenOS and making it available as individual apps on the Google Play Store. The latest offering has the firm releasing one of the more core components of its OS, the OnePlus Launcher as a separate download.

By having separate apps available on the Google Play Store, this strategy allows the firm to update those parts without the need to release an over-the-air (OTA) update of its entire OS. If curious, you can see the description of the app in the portion below.

WYSIWYG Settings

  • Under the options, we preset gestures for you to quick access notifications and the search. Try swiping up or down on your home screen and you will like it for sure.

  • OnePlus launcher support a wide range of icon packs. You can change them simply by a tap in options or drag an icon to the top. In addition of our default icon packs, there are hundreds of icon packs on the market for you. Download your favorite ones and give them a try.

In addition to the OnePlus Launcher, the firm also previously released the Weather and Gallery app. While all of the aforementioned apps are currently available via the Play Store, it will only be available for download for compatible OnePlus handsets.
