OPPO recently unveiled the Reno2 series of smartphones, but the new lineup didn't include a flagship to succeed the original Reno 10x Zoom. However, that's set to change as the company has begun teasing a new smartphone in the Reno lineup, which will be called the Reno Ace.
The first official teaser was posted earlier today on Chinese social network Weibo (via GSMArena), and it includes a pretty lofty promise - support for 65W fast charging. This would make it the fastest charging technology on a phone that's available to buy.
Companies have been on an intense race to get the highest charging speeds, and some have claimed to be working on charging capabilities upwards of 100W. Those promises, however, have yet to make it to a final product, and current numbers have reached around 50W - also on an OPPO smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ supports 45W charging, which is still well below what OPPO is promising for the Reno Ace.
As for wireless charging, Xiaomi seems to be taking the lead, with promises of 30W charging on its upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro. OPPO hasn't said anything about wireless charging on its new phone.
Aside from the fast charging, the OPPO Reno Ace is said to come with a 90Hz refresh rate display and a 4,000mAh battery. The phone is set to be unveiled in China on October 10.
