Oppo's R17 Pro has an in-display fingerprint reader, dual batteries, and three rear cameras

The OPPO R17 Pro has finally managed to make its official debut after numerous leaks over the past couple months. The exterior looks quite vibrant with its shimmering gradient color scheme and does offer quite a bit of technology under the hood.

Despite some areas of the phone offering up impressive specifications, this is not a high-end smartphone. The R17 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm 710 processor, 8GB RAM, and has 128GB of internal storage. It has a large 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a small cut out for the 25MP front-facing camera that is shaped like a water droplet. The screen also has an embedded fingerprint reader, something that is not all that common.

As far as the rear camera goes, the R17 Pro has three cameras, a 20MP, 12MP, and a ToF (time-of-flight) 3D stereo camera. When it comes to its battery, the unit will have a bit of a unique setup, making use of two 1,850mAh batteries, giving the smartphone a total capacity of 3,700mAh. The handset will support SuperVOOC, which should allow it to charge up to 40 percent in just 10 minutes.

The R17 Pro will be available in China, making its retail debut sometime in October at ¥4,299 or around $625 USD.
