Paladins is coming to the Nintendo Switch just in time for E3

You may not have heard of Paladins, but the game from Hi-Rez Studios - who also developed SMITE - shares a lot of features with Blizzard's extremely successful Overwatch, and it's become pretty popular due to its free-to-play nature. The game has attracted over 25 million players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and now the Nintendo Switch is getting its own version of the game, confirming recent rumors.

Hi-Rez Studios made the announcement on the Paladins website, and the game has a planned release for June 12, the same day as Nintendo's presentation at E3. The initial release will come in the form of the Founder's Pack, which costs $30, but it does offer access to every current (36, as of right now) and upcoming Champion character, as well as exclusive cosmetic items. The regular free-to-play version should be available later in the summer.

The studio promises that the game will run at 60 frames per second in handheld and docked mode, which is welcome on fast-paced games such as Paladins, and the game will also support cross-platform multiplayer with the Xbox One, but not with the PlayStation 4, as Sony continues rejecting the possibility.

Paladins may be joining Fortnite, which has also seemingly been confirmed by Nintendo following intense speculation. Paladins itself was the subject of rumors, and its announcement may lend some credibility to other rumors regarding E3 announcements for the Nintendo Switch.
