Panasonic has announced Miraie, an IoT and AI connected living solution. The firm has also unveiled Miraie-compatible air conditioners, a smart doorbell, plugs and switches. It said that the range of devices will, in future, include a refrigerator, washing machine, television, fans, geysers and more.

Miraie will focus on the Indian market for the time being, it’s unclear if Panasonic will launch compatible products globally later on. One key feature of Miraie is that the platform is updatable, this will ensure that security risks are minimised. Miraie also features intelligent diagnostics which will help maximise the performance of devices and their lifespan.

Commenting on the new platform and connected devices, Manish Sharma, President & CEO of Panasonic India and South East Asia, said:

“With the advent of 5G, IoT will be driving the next round of transformation in the digital world and is the future of smart, connected India. Consumers are now looking towards IoT & AI enabled solutions to enhance quality of life through connected ecosystems - as per our research over 75% are looking for comfort & convenience with specific requirements related to ease of use; safety; monitoring misuse; service reminders. Through the launch of our Miraie platform, we aim to address all of the above and extend connected living in a true sense and further our vision of a better life, a better world.”

Panasonic said that it would be launching a “360 degree campaign” to spread awareness about its new platform. The advertising campaign will encompass traditional, TV and digital mediums. Additionally, prospective customers will be able to interact with product displays and demo zones on shop floors to get a feel for the products.
