Peaky Blinders: Mastermind release date announced

A few months ago, British developer FuturLab and publisher CurveDigital revealed that they were working on a video game adaptation of critically the acclaimed TV series Peaky Blinders. The name of the puzzle adventure title was revealed to be Peaky Blinders: Mastermind. It was originally assigned a tentative summer 2020 release window.

Today CurveDigital announced that Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will be released on August 20, 2020. A new trailer featuring some gameplay was also shared, as seen below. The game features voice acting by Cillian Murphy, the actor who played the lead role of Thomas Shelby in the British series.

The puzzle-adventure title will feature a top-down viewpoint. Some of the details of the game's storyline read:

"Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a puzzle-adventure game based on the multi-award-winning TV show. Taking place immediately before the events of the show’s very first season, players will join the Shelby family's criminal organisation as they discover a sinister plot to put Tommy out of business. Players must plan and enact strategies by taking direct control of key members of the Shelby family simultaneously over the same timeline, moving characters into position at exactly the right moment in order to navigate challenging scenarios."

Fans of Peaky Blinders will be happy to know that the soundtrack for the game has been developed in collaboration with the British rock band Feverist, who created the music for the first season of the show. Additionally, those who pre-order the game on PC will receive the official soundtrack for Peaky Blinders: Mastermind for free.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is set to land on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam via PC. While the retail price will be $24.99, those who pre-purchase the game from today will receive a 20% discount. Pre-orders are now live for Xbox One and PC users and can be placed through the Microsoft Store and Steam for the respective platforms.
