Pizza Hut debuts new Pie Tops II connected sneakers that can order pizza

Last year, Pizza Hut introduced the Pie Tops, a connected pair of sneakers that could order pizza with the press of a button. This year, the company is introducing a similar pair dubbed the Pie Tops II, updated with the ability to pause television. Users will be able to sync the sneakers with their Pizza Hut app on their smartphones, and by pressing the Pizza Hut logo on the tongue of the shoe, order pizza. There will also be an additional button on the inside of the tongue that will allow content on the TV to be paused. This will work through your local cable provider.

Not only did Pizza hut update the functionality for 2018, but also made some cosmetic changes to the shoe itself. Though the silhouette is similar to last year's model, there is a new mesh insert on the side, that mimics the look of a cheese grater, with a leather accent on the heel that's meant to emulate a splash of marinara sauce. Those that aren't feeling the red colorway will be able to pick up a pair in the new light brown variant dubbed 'Wheat'.

Unlike last year's model that was limited to a select few sent out as promotional pairs, this year's version will be offered as a limited release to the public and will be available through HBX the week of March 19. Unfortunately, pricing is not available at this time.
