PlanetSide 2 entered beta testing earlier this summer and the sci-fi first person shooter MMO is scheduled to come out of beta later this year. This week, Sony Online announced a way for players to quickly get into the beta, along with some special bonuses and in-game items for a price.
While PlanetSide 2 is designed from the ground up as a free-to-play game, Sony Online is also offering the Alpha Squad package for $40. This bundle will allow users to instantly enter the beta test for the game, without having to wait for an invite. The package also includes $40 in Station Cash, the game's online currency.
In addition, the PlanetSide 2 Alpha Squad package will offer players some exclusive in-game items when the game officially launches. It includes an camo package for each of the game's three playable factions with matching vehicle, armor and weapon skins. Players will also get six months of a 10 percent XP boost along with a resource boost.
The Alpha Squad package also has 12 instant weapon unlocks (four weapons will get unlocks for each player class), a unique player decal and the exclusive Founder title. Station Cash cannot be used to purchase the Alpha Squad package.
