Last week, Microsoft revealed that over six million people had signed up to its Windows Insider program in recent months, helping the company to develop and refine Windows 10 ahead of its launch last month. Yesterday, Microsoft rolled out its first new Insider Preview, build 10525, since the OS launched for PCs on July 29.
Since its public launch, Microsoft has rolled out three cumulative updates for Windows 10, as it continues to add polish to the user experience, largely by attempting to kill any remaining bugs that are discovered. This is the new cadence under the Windows-as-a-service era - the company has promised to push out regular (and mandatory) updates, in a process of continuous improvement to the OS.
Reviews of Windows 10, from both critics and 'regular' users, have been broadly positive so far, and with Microsoft working to improve the OS much more frequently, some users may well be tempted to switch to the stable public releases instead.
