Last month, Microsoft made a revamped UI for Power BI Mobile generally available. In the first Power BI-related update announcement for this year, the tech giant has unveiled a new Capacity Health Center for the Premium capacity metrics app, alongside other changes.
The aim of the new Health Center page is to provide admins information regarding key performance indicators (KPIs). For this purpose, three health metrics have been introduced to help monitor available capacities; these include Refresh Waits, Query Waits, and Active Memory. The top part of the new landing page showcases these metrics, their separate categories, their statuses, and the web links for more information on each.
Each KPI also has an associated 'Explore' button that showcases visualizations of the specified metrics, as well as a troubleshooting guide to help understand and mitigate issues. The Refresh Waits measure displays a threshold of 10% for refreshes waiting 10 minutes or longer. Query Waits, meanwhile, presents a visualization of whether at least 25% of the selected capacity's queries have waited 100 milliseconds or more to execute. And finally, the Active Memory measure shows whether the capacity's active memory has crossed the 70% threshold at least 50 times in the last seven days.
Moving on, a new option to add a configurable local time zone is now also available. Upon installation of the Premium capacity metrics app, an integer that represents the a users' time zone's UTC offset can be entered in the relevant dialog box to make use of this feature.
