PSA: Free Touch or Type cover with Surface RT purchase ends Sunday

Microsoft has been trying to unload a bunch of its Surface RT tablets over the past few weeks. The people who attended Microsoft's TechEd North America conference in early June could buy the Windows RT device, with touch cover, for just $99. It's also offered the 32 GB version to qualified students for $199.

Since May 31st, Microsoft has given the general public a way to get a free Touch or Type cover with the purchase of the Surface RT in the US or Canada. On Sunday, that deal is scheduled to end so if you are not a student and really want to get your hands on a first generation Surface RT product, you might want to order one before the end of the weekend.

The deal covers the regular version of the Touch Cover, which comes in several colors, which normally sells on its own for $119.99. It also can be used with two of the limited edition Surface Touch Covers (Skulls or Flowers), which sell for $129.99 each. The final choice is the black Type cover, which also sells for $129.99. You can take advantage of this special offer by buying the Surface RT at a Microsoft Store location or online, along with Best Buy or Staples stores and their respective websites.
