id Software announced today that Quake II for the PC is now available for purchase from its site as a download. Simply purchase the game and download it immediately to begin playing on the spot!
Obviously this online purchase is geared towards broadband users or people with a lot of time on their hands - The installation file is around 250mb.
The game is selling for $30 from id Software. Other games for sale directly from id include Quake, Doom II, Final Doom, Heretic and Hexen.
