Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed until 2018

Rockstar Games revealed Red Dead Redemption 2 back in October last year, with an exciting and familiar western themed trailer. Although missing any story details and the like, the trailer revealed the game's launch window to be fall 2017, arriving for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

However, in a new blog post which published just a few minutes ago, the developer announced that the game has been delayed, with the highly anticipated title now arriving in spring 2018 instead.

The developer revealed that the delay was to "ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans," as it is the first title "created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware".

The developer also expressed an apology to fans, saying "We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready."

More information about the game was promised to be revealed this summer, with the developer then proceeding to show off a score of new in-game screenshots, all of which can be found on the official Rockstar Games website.

With E3 less than a month away, it's highly likely that Rockstar Games will fully unveil Red Dead Redemption 2 at the event, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
