Rumor: next-gen iPhone rumored to have 16:9 display

Adding to the rumors that Apple would be using 4 inch screens on the iPhone 5, 9to5mac is now reporting that a number of sources within Apple have been testing phones with a 16:9 which features a resolution of 1136 x 640.

The rumor indicates that the iPhone’s aspect ratio is set to change and the specific and very unusual resolution implies that the rumor could have some validity. Going from general knowledge of native resolutions of various devices, if a screen like the rumor suggests appears on the iPhone 5, you can expect the home screen to feature an extra row of icons — with no drop in quality.

"Undisclosed" employees are supposedly testing these new iPhones in "locked shells in order to disguise the exterior design". These employees also indicate that the dock connector is changing and will be "between the size of a Micro-USB and Mini-USB connector" in size.

There are many speculations of what the next iPhone will be like an whilst we don’t have any solid details yet, we look forward to finding out exactly what the iPhone 5 will feature internally and how its exterior will be improved.
