Samsung announces 'Unpacked for Every Fan' event on September 23

Samsung has announced that it will be holding a virtual "Unpacked for every fan" on September 23, 2020. The smartphone giant is expected to announce the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition at the event which it hints via the event invite as well.

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has leaked heavily in the last few weeks and almost everything about the device is now known. The device will be a slightly cut down variant of the Galaxy S20 and feature a design language similar to it. It will house a flat 6.5-inch FHD+ resolution 120Hz AMOLED panel at the front that will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The 5G variant will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 while the 4G variant will feature Exynos 990. Other specs of the device include 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, wireless charging with reverse wireless charging, and IP68 certification. The device will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support.

The camera setup of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will reportedly be cut down from what one gets on the regular Galaxy S20 lineup. It will feature a 12MP f/1.8 OIS shooter with 1.8um large pixels. This will be paired with a 12MP 123-degree ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture. Lastly, there's an 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS. At the front, there will be a 32MP selfie shooter. Like other Galaxy S20 devices, the S20 Fan Edition will also be able to record videos in 8K resolution.

Leaked renders suggest the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be available in six different colors that include orange, lavender, green, and red.

Samsung will be live streaming the 'Galaxy Unpacked for Every Fan' event on YouTube as well as on Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung.com. The event starts at 10 a.m. ET on September 23.
