It was only last year that Samsung released a version of its Gear VR headset with support for a USB Type-C port. While the 2016 version supported USB Type-C, it also had an adapter that would allow compatibility with older Samsung devices that used microUSB. Although we have seen discounts in the past on the Gear VR, this latest deal is probably one of the lowest prices in quite some time.
For a limited time, those interested can purchase the Gear VR 2016 for $33.99. The Gear VR is only compatible with Samsung handsets like the Galaxy S8, S8+, Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge.
If you're looking for something a bit newer, you can always opt for the latest Gear VR headset that comes with a controller. This will of course quite a bit more than the 2016 version as the 2017 model is currently priced around $90. The two VR headsets are roughly the same, with the main difference being the controller for easier control of content.
