Samsung offers £100K reward for Heathrow DRAM theft info

Samsung and its insurers are offering a £100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the people, or person, behind the $4.5m Heathrow computer chip theft in October

Here are some clues to be going on with - Samsung reckon the chips are still in the UK. The stolen consignment, contained in 290 boxes consist mainly of DRAM modules, some SRAM and FLASH devices, and components such as ASICs and Alpha microprocessors. They are of "such high specification (that) they will be incredibly difficult to sell". Markings on the parts include the name Samsung and a date stamp of between 235 and 241 weeks.

Police are appealing for anyone, particularly those working in the technology industry, who are offered Samsung discrete memory components or memory modules from unusual sources or at cut price to contact them on 0208 897 7412 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (UK).
