Samsung said to be working on a 12-inch Windows 10 tablet

Following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, rumor has it that the company might be working on a 12-inch Windows 10 tablet as well. The purported specs revealed on the Chinese site, Weibo, indicate that it could be a rival to Microsoft's own Surface Pro lineup.

Benchmarks of the alleged Windows 10 tablet have been leaked by a Weibo user who has disclosed accurate information regarding mobile handsets in the past as well. According to him, the device will feature a 12-inch screen with a Super AMOLED display. However, he's not sure about the resolution, claiming that it could be 2560×1600 or even 3840×2400.

The Windows tablet will purportedly include a 14-nm Intel Core M processor and 4 GB of RAM. The device could be 6.2mm in thickness and weigh 600 grams. There's also a possibility of the inclusion of the S-Pen, similar to the one found in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

However, considering the lack of evidence and confirmation from other reputable sources, we advise you to take this news with a rather large grain of salt. With that being said, Microsoft is also looking to launch the Surface Pro 4 soon, so it might be interesting to see at least some competition between the two companies, provided that the 12-inch Windows 10 tablet from Samsung does turn out to be real.
