Samsung says its new 13.3-inch Windows 10 laptop is "the lightest notebook on the market"

Samsung may well be looking to sell off its PC business to Lenovo, but in the meantime, it's continuing to launch new devices.

Today, the company announced a refresh of its Notebook 9 range, featuring Intel's new 7th-generation ('Kaby Lake') processors.

Like its predecessor, the new Notebook 9 comes in two sizes: a 15-inch model; and a 13.3-inch variant, which Samsung claims is "the lightest notebook on the market", weighing in at 1.8 pounds (around 814 grams). Both versions offer Full HD (1920x1080px) screens with HDR support, and "an ultra-slim bezel and near edge-to-edge display".

Both models include a USB Type-C port, as well as supporting 'Adaptive Fast Charge', which the company says will allow users to fully charge either model in 80 minutes. Samsung says that you can expect around 7 hours of usage from a single charge.

Along with a backlit keyboard, you'll also get an integrated fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello biometric authentication support, but there's no support for the facial recognition offered on some other high-end Windows 10 notebooks.

You can view the full list of specs for both Notebook 9 models in the table below:

Samsung hasn't yet announced pricing for the new Notebook 9 models, nor has it said when or where they'll be available to buy - but we should find out more about that at CES next month.
