Samsung SmartThings has announced that it is expanding its SmartThings Energy service to aid consumers in managing their energy consumption efficiently and mitigating their carbon footprint. For this purpose, SmartThings Energy has joined hands with various energy management platforms including Constellation, Logical Buildings, and Oracle Utilities.

Samsung's Executive Vice President and Head of IoT Business, Chanwoo Park stated:

We are proud of Samsung’s commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency and will continue leveraging our robust product line and innovative platforms to help homeowners make eco-friendly decisions. By continuing to expand the platform with new integrations and partnerships, SmartThings Energy is defining the future of home energy management in the most accessible way possible.

Samsung SmartThings' collaboration with Constellation will enable it to develop clean energy solutions that "leverage dual areas of expertise" to integrate the power of mobility, technology, and energy. It will also work together with Logical Buildings and its GridRewards program in the ConED utility market to enable its users to take part in ConED's demand response program.

Through its alliance with Oracle Utilities, SmartThings will develop solutions that combine Oracle's contextual and behavioral energy insights with SmartThings device and automation capabilities. These alliances will operate together with the capabilities that SmartThings Energy offers such as whole energy home monitoring and individual device/disaggregated energy monitoring.

SmartThings also aims to collaborate with additional partners such as Eaton for smart breaker integrations, Wallbox on EV charging solutions, and Enersponse for grid service programs and utility integration.
