Samsung is getting itself ready to share results of its investigation regarding the Galaxy Note7 debacle this month, after the phablet was discontinued in the past year over risks of fire or exploding.
“The task of finding the cause of the explosion has been completed recently,” stated a Samsung Electronics official in a report of South Korean news company JoongAng Ilbo. He adds that “relevant departments have begun preparations to release the results later this month." It was primarily speculated that the company would announce its findings by the end of 2016 to properly close out the year, but this did not push through.
Samsung reportedly plans to make the investigation public, so that its customers can truly know what went wrong with the Galaxy Note7.
The company issued a recall in September upon discovery that a "small percentage" of Note7 handsets were catching fire. However, in the following month, it finally gave up on selling the device, eventually urging its customers to power it down, and return each and every handset back to where they were sold.
However, despite the fiasco, it was discovered that Samsung is still working on a follow-up Note8 device, alongside the Galaxy S8 and S8 edge. It is rumored to arrive soon, possibly making its debut at MWC 2017.
