Samsung's cheaper Galaxy S10 model gets shown off in new images

This shouldn't come as a surprise, but a lot of information has already been discussed in regards to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 family of smartphones. While there has been no form of official announcement, we've seen reports that go as far as mentioning the price for every tier of the product line. Now, after yesterday's leak showed off official renders of the Samsung Galaxy S10+, we have images of the smaller handset among the S10 trio.

Purportedly called the Galaxy S10e, the device will cut back in a number of ways to achieve a more modest price point. Previous reports have suggested that the company may use a cheaper in-display fingerprint sensor for this model, but according to WinFuture, the S10e will actually feature a fingerprint reader on the right side of the phone, a similar implementation to what's seen in some of Sony's phones.

Aside from the new images and the side-mounted fingerprint reader, this report mostly confirms what we've heard before. The S10e will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and the leaks show what appear to be the black, white, and green models that were mentioned in an earlier report. The yellow version, which has also been mentioned before, should be coming as well, and there might be a blue model later down the road.

The smallest of the Galaxy S10 family will also have a flat 5.8-inch display without the curved edges that have become synonymous with Samsung's recent flagships, and it will have slightly larger bezels than its bigger brothers. It will also be the only one of the three to have a dual-camera setup on the back, where the S10 and S10+ will have three sensors.

Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for February 20, just a few days before Mobile World Congress starts in Barcelona. All of these details should be confirmed at that time.
