JRPG title Scarlet Nexus was first announced in the May 2020 episode of Inside Xbox for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, followed by a PlayStation reveal the next day. Although the game's maker Bandai Namco revealed a lot of information about the game itself, no exact launch date for the game was known until today.

The Japanese video game developer and publisher has finally taken the wraps off the launch date of Scarlet Nexus. The futuristic sci-fi game will make its way to PC and consoles on June 25, 2021. The launch date aligns with the previously assigned release window of Summer 2021. Pre-orders for the game are now open with various editions available to pre-purchase.

The summary of the game's story reads:

"Featuring a dual story, begin your adventure with either Yuito Sumeragi, an energetic recruit from a prestigious political family or Kasane Randall, the mysterious scout whose power and skill has gained great notoriety among the OSF.

As their different experiences interweave with each other, it is only then that you will reveal the full story and unlock all the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technology and psychic abilities in SCARLET NEXUS."

In addition to the unveiling of the release date of Scarlet Nexus, an anime of the same name based on the game was also announced today. It is developed by the legendary Japanese animation studio Sunrise which is behind many noteworthy works such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop and more.
