SharePoint Online team sites get new features, integrate better with Office 365

According to its roadmap for SharePoint, Microsoft has introduced two new features for SharePoint Online team sites, which include the ability to create pages with rich content and deeper integration with Office 365.

With the new page creation feature, users can create responsive pages which can contain images, documents, videos, galleries, events and other supported content. The page can then be published on the team site and shared via email.

SharePoint Online team sites will now be better integrated with Office 365. As a result, each Office 365 group will get a team site in addition to a shared inbox, calendar, OneNote notebook and a task management planner. With each team site, a new Office 365 group would also be created.

One of the most exciting announcements related to SharePoint Online is that Microsoft will be increasing the site collection storage limit from 1 TB to 25 TB in order to address the growing needs of consumers due to team sites, Office 365 video and portal sites.

First release customers should be able to see the changes in the coming days, while other Office 365 users will get the features next month.
