Showtime arrives on the Xbox One as a standalone app

The Xbox One is mainly known for its gaming capabilities, but after some time, it has become quite the media box, offering many different forms of entertainment when it comes to streaming services. Now, the console has added another service to its repertoire, bringing Showtime as a standalone offering.

Showtime on Xbox One gives service subscribers access to all of the network's original series, movies, sporting events, and more. Beyond just offering its library of recorded material, subscribers will also be able to access programming that is live on the network.

In order to access the content, you will need to be a Showtime subscriber with a participating television service provider. If you do not have the service, you can also sign up using the app and activate the service at the Showtime website. The service will cost $10.99 a month with new subscribers getting a seven-day free trial.

Once you have access, you will be able to stream the network's content on your Xbox One without additional charges and without the need to have an Xbox Live Gold membership.
