Skull and Bones makes you a naval plunderer in the Golden Age of Piracy

The most exciting announcement at Ubisoft's E3 event this year is Skull and Bones, a new game from the company that lets you assume the role of a pirate in the golden age of the profession.

Building on Ubisoft Singapore's work on naval combat in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Skull and Bones takes the concept to the next level, significantly improving the naval combat and creating a whole new game around it.

This is not a single player adventure, however, and similar to Microsoft's Sea of Thieves, features a shared online world and encouraging you to join your friends in the pursuit of loot and infamy. This also means that there will also be those who seek to pilfer your hard-earned fortune and player will need to defend themselves against rival gangs and more.

The game will be available in Fall next year on the current generation of consoles from Microsoft and Sony, alongside PC.
