Some Fluent Design implementations in the upcoming Redstone 4 have been leaked

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update was released just over a week ago; containing interesting features like an anti-cheat system, OneDrive Files On-Demand, and more. Perhaps inevitably, users faced a couple of major issues as well, such as a missing apps bug. Similarly, implementation of only parts of the Fluent Design System was something that left quite a few users disappointed.

It seems as though Microsoft's next feature update, Redstone 4, will be bringing much more to the table, with screenshots of a refined UI and some Fluent Design features having cropped up already -courtesy of Microsoft enthusiast, Rafael Rivera.

As can be observed, the UI for Windows Settings looks slightly more polished, with an improved layout for the home page. Similarly, the Acrylic effect is being brought to the sidebar of the Settings pages as well. Incidentally, the sidebar already includes Fluent Design's Reveal highlight effect, which was packaged with the Fall Creators Update.

It is still unclear how much of the new design system will actually be implemented with the next feature update, but with a couple of changes revealed already - months ahead of the actual release of Redstone 4 - Windows users will be hopeful that more of it will be included this time around. In particular, several elements of Fluent Design which were announced by Microsoft earlier this year, but didn't feature in the Fall Creators Update, might feature in the spring update.

More components of Fluent Design can be observed in the current and upcoming Insider builds, which serve as a preview for the spring 2018 feature update.
