Some of your favorite animated characters are uniting in new mobile game

DreamWorks Animation has today announced that it is bringing a new game for Android and iOS devices, titled Universe of Legends. The game will bring together over 40 animated characters from popular franchises such as Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, Madagascar, Megamind, Rise of the Guardians, and Turbo. The company expects to add characters from other franchises to its roster with the passage of time.

Developed by Firefly Games, Universe of Legends is described as action role-playing game which sees Master Oogway calling upon characters from DreamWorks' franchises in a quest to recover Dreamstones and defeat a "frightening threat". Michael Zhang, CEO of Firefly Games had the following to say about the project:

We are truly honored to have the opportunity to bring multiple worlds of DreamWorks into one grand and unique adventure. We’re eager to bring exciting new content to DreamWorks fans and gamers alike.

Some of the major features of Universe of Legends include:

  • Popular DreamWorks Characters: Players assemble a team of Legends from over 40 3D upgradable Heroes (& Villains)!
  • Iconic Film Locations: A playground of familiar DreamWorks worlds inspired by the Valley of Peace from Kung Fu Panda, the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon, the Swamp from Shrek and more.
  • Real-Time Combat System: Engage the Globby menace and recover lost Dreamstones using tactical party-based combat, upgradable gear, and dynamic skills.
  • Expansive Single Player & PvP Modes: Players can valiantly journey through single player adventure or test their team’s skills against global opponents in Player-versus-Player (PvP) Arena.

DreamWorks Animation's Universe of Legends is free-to-play, but does offer in-app purchases. You can download it on your Android or iOS devices by hitting the store links below.
