Sony shows off unique open-style concept earphones

Every year, Sony delights guests at CES with its multiple announcements that include TVs, smartphones, cameras, and other devices. But, perhaps some of the more interesting things are items that might only be a concept and may never see the light of day as a true release. This year, the firm debuted its Xperia Ear headphones that feature an open-style concept that can allow external noise to enter the ear allowing the user to still enjoy the tunes being pumped through each bud.

While it might sound a bit strange, if you like to wear headphones when you are out and about, you have undoubtedly run into the situation when people are trying to talk to you or where sounds occurring around you cannot be heard, which can sometimes be dangerous. The earphones aren't just a standard set either, as users will also be able to control the headphones with a nod of the head, tap of the bud, or even using voice commands.

As mentioned before, this is just a concept that was being shown off at CES. But considering that they had a fully working demo of the unit available, this is something that you might see on store shelves sometime in the near future.
