Spotify for Windows Phone 8 finally out of beta, gets some new features

The Windows Phone Store has been chugging along nicely with a lot of important updates being sent out and some important official apps finally joining the Windows Phone ecosystem.

And there’s more good news coming via Joe Belfiore, of the Windows Phone team in Redmond. Belfiore tweeted a short while ago that a big update is coming today for the Spotify app on Windows Phone 8.

Until now the app has officially been in open beta, but with this update it finally graduates to gold. Users will not only receive the usual bug fixes but some brand new features as well: the app is now supported in more languages, there are some considerable offline playlist improvements and we finally get track scrubbing.

The update hasn’t yet fully propagated through Microsoft’s servers so don’t worry if you don’t see an update notification just yet, but keep checking back later on in the day.
