Sprint's new five line deal for $90 is great... for the first year

Sprint is clearly feeling the heat as they have launched a new promotion that will allow new customers to get five lines of service with unlimited data for $90 a month. While this is an amazing deal, there are a couple things you should know before diving in.

Starting today, customers can sign up for a new unlimited plan with the first line costing $50 a month. If they opt to add a second line, it will cost an additional $40, bringing the two line plan up to a total of $90. This is where things get interesting because if you opt to add any more lines up to a maximum of five in total, Sprint will throw in the lines for free. In the end, you are left with an amazing deal of five lines for $90 a month. There are only a few restrictions here in that you will need to sign up for Sprint's AutoPay service to net the monthly bill credit, there will be reduced streaming speeds for video and music, and data will be deprioritized during times of congestion.

Perhaps one of the more crucial and important aspects of the deal is that it is temporary and only good for one year. As explained in the fine print, the promotional period will end on March 31, 2018. After this point, the customer will pay an additional $10 for the first month ($60) with the second line remaining the same at $40. If you choose to keep any of the other lines (3-5), you will be required to pay $30 for each line per month. As you can probably calculate, this dramatically increases your bill - giving you a monthly bill of $190. While the final price after a year isn't terrible, it definitely isn't as sweet as the original offer.
