Verizon has started pushing the stable version of Samsung's One UI (based on Android 9.0 Pie) to its Galaxy S9 and S9+ offerings in the U.S. The update brings with it the new user interface offered by the latest Android version along with the January 2019 Android security patch.
For the Galaxy S9, the new release bumps up the software version to PPR1.180610.011.G960USQU3CSAB while the software version for the Galaxy S9+ update is PPR1.180610.011.G965USQU3CSAB. Among the notable changes brought about by One UI are the inclusion of a night mode, adaptive battery and display, app actions, and intuitive navigation.
The update also introduces an intuitive camera interface which places the different camera modes above the camera button to let users access them quickly. Additionally, users can now find the quick settings, Bixby Vision, and AR Emoji at the top of the display.
Another feature included in One UI is the One Talk service that's baked into the native dialer. The service works to provide a multi-line telephone solution that allows users to work in an office, in a remote location or a combination thereof.
The release of One UI to the Verizon Galaxy S9 and S9+ comes a month after the same update made its way to the Galaxy S9 range in Europe and over a week since its launch on the Galaxy S9 and Note9 devices in India and South Korea.
