Star Wars: Jedi Challenges is getting a Dark Side mode with a Kylo Ren lightsaber

Last year at IFA 2017, Lenovo introduced Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, an augmented reality game that allows you to take up your own lightsaber and play as a Jedi in your own battles. In May, the firm introduced a multiplayer mode, so you can actually fight your friends.

Now, there's a Dark Side mode, where you can actually play as Kylo Ren and fight characters like Yoda, Rey, and Luke Skywalker. As Lenovo noted, this is the third major content update that Jedi Challenges has received in a year since it was first announced, which is quite impressive.

While the Dark Side Expansion is free, Lenovo is selling a limited edition Kylo Ren Lightsaber for $99.99. Just as the original lightsaber that ships with Sar Wars: Jedi Challenges is a replica of Luke's, this one master's Kylo Ren's iconic crossguard design.

The Star Wars: Jedi Challenges Dark Side Expansion will be available in November, with the limited edition Kylo Ren Lightsaber arriving this winter for $99.99. In order to use the Kylo Ren Lightsaber, you'll need to already have the game, and Lenovo wouldn't comment on bundles being sold with the new accessory.

Update: An earlier version of this article said that the expansion will be available on October 1.
