SteelSeries launches Stratus Duo controller featuring Magnetic Hall Effect sensors

SteelSeries is known to produce a broad range of different gaming accessories for consoles and PC. After closing out 2018 with its new line of mouse pads, the firm starts off 2019 with a new controller that offers compatibility with both Android devices and PC, using a wide array of connection options.

The Stratus Duo makes can connect to compatible Android devices, Samsung Gear VR, and Oculus Go via Bluetooth. For PC, users can take advantage of the included adapter to create a wireless connection using a 2.4Ghz signal. While the shape and feel will be similar to that of the Stratus XL, there will be improvements to its attributes, like its new triggers with Magnetic Hall Effect sensors that are meant to feel more consistent and precise when activated.

As far as battery life goes, one should expect up to 20 hours on a single charge, with the Stratus Duo making use of a Micro-USB port for recharging and a cabled connection with PC. If curious or in need of a new controller, the model will be available from SteelSeries for $59.99, with a smartphone mounting accessory costing $9.99.
