Surface Go gets driver and firmware updates for pen and touch input

Last month, Microsoft rolled out driver and firmware updates to most of its supported Surface devices, ahead of the public release of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update. Now, the Surface Go tablet, which was not among the devices that received updates at the time, is getting its own set of updates, albeit a very small one.

Dated for June 4, but not mentioned until now, the latest updates focus on improving support for pen devices and the performance of the touchscreen. It's worth noting that the updates are only listed for the Wi-Fi version of the Surface Go, with the LTE variant seemingly left out. Here's the changelog:

Windows Update History Name Device Manager Name
Surface – HIDClass – 23.608.139.0

Surface Pen Settings – System devices

  • 23.608.139.0 improves device pen support.
Surface – Firmware – 61.26.0.0

Surface Touch – Firmware

  • 61.26.0.0 improves device touch performance.

Fortunately, there are no known issues with these updates. They should be available through Windows Update if you're running any version of Windows 10 after the April 2018 Update, or version 1803.
