Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 is now over four years old, and while it doesn't receive firmware and driver updates as much as it used to, it got one today. The update is the first that the tablet has received since February.
Oddly enough, today's update is only for devices that are running the Windows 10 Creators Update, or version 1703. That means that the vast majority of users won't see it, since most people are running a newer version of Windows 10.

According to the value indicator chart, the update improves security and nothing else.
While the release notes don't list the vulnerabilities specifically, this fix likely has to do with Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities, which were discovered earlier this year. These are vulnerabilities that will continue to be mitigated over time, and these fixes do come with a performance hit.
