Surface RT starts shipping, Microsoft sending out confirmation emails

Less than a week ago Microsoft started accepting pre-orders for their Surface RT tablet. The device, priced at $499 for a 32GB model, seems to have sold very well with orders being backlogged for almost 3 weeks in the US and UK and even France and Germany more recently. The Microsoft branded tablet has a lot of people excited due to its unique design, special cover that doubles as a keyboard, and what seems to be a very polished and sturdy look and feel.

As WPCentral reports, Microsoft seems to have started shipping the devices, so if you are one of these early adopters you can rest assured that your tablet is only a few days away from being in your hands. As you can see in the email above, your credit card will also be charged when your device is shipped. So if you haven't received an email yet you might want to check your credit card and see if there's any activity there.

There was some confusion a few days back regarding when these pre-ordered devices would ship, with certain e-mails being sent out in error. However Microsoft quickly addressed the problem stating that all orders would ship by the original promised date which was the 26th of this month.

So there you have it folks, it's been a long and exciting ride but now Surface is just days away from being in consumers' hands.
