The Tor Project, the organisation behind the Tor Browser, has announced it is laying off 13 employees as it re-evaluates its finances following the outbreak of COVID-19. It will keep 22 employees.

The Tor Project has announced the availability of OnionShare 2.2. With the new update, users can now share and receive files and even host their own Onion site accessible via the Tor Browser.

At a recent Tor Project meeting, the main developers of the anonymity network discussed a proposal to create a Firefox add-on that would allow users to access Tor browsing from Mozilla's browser.

The Tor Project has announced the timeline for the implementation of the new, more secure onion services. The project has already started the transition which will take a few years to become default.
