At this year's E3, Microsoft announced the return of it's Flight Simulator series. The latest title, Microsoft Flight Simulator, is slated for a 2020 release, and it will be supporting third-party and community-made content.
Now, Microsoft has opened recruitment for the game's Tech Alpha release - which will be arriving soon. As of now, details regarding it are sparse, though the Redmond firm has promised more information will be unveiled next week, on September 19, including a release timeline, as well as the goals being pursued through the build.
Moreover, exactly a week after that, a release preview for the Feature Discovery Series will be launched. This series will be exploring feature details in much greater depth, keeping in regard the user-created forum threads Microsoft has been closely following. After its preview on September 26, the series will be kicking off fully in October.
To gain access to the Tech Alpha release, all you need to do is sign up for the Insider program here, if you have not done so already. After registering, you'll also be able to view a preview release of version #1.10DRR of the Development Roadmap in the Insider area. This includes dates for October deliverables, with those for November planned to be added over the next few weeks.
Microsoft has also noted that it is trying to improve the timing of these weekly posts, bearing in mind the non-PST timezone regions. Either way, the next update from the Microsoft Flight Simulator team will be arriving on September 19.
