To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Telegram has pushed version 5.15 of its popular messenger product. The new update overhauls profile pages, makes viewing pictures and video a little easier, adds several animated heart emoji, and introduces People Nearby 2.0 which can help you find new friends in your vicinity.

With this update, people’s profile pages contain more information making it easier to find out what you shared with them. Aside from the contact’s profile picture and contact details, you can see the photos, videos, links, and other media you’ve sent to them. Each media type is given its own tab making it very easy to find out what you’ve sent.

While you’re on the profile page looking at photos you’ve sent, try out the new media flipping feature that was added in this update. Instead of swiping to see the next photo, you can now tap on the right or left side of the image to go forward or back. This creates less work for you when navigating and keeps your screen free of smudges.

The final new feature is called People Nearby 2.0. This builds on the People Nearby feature that was added last year. Now you can broadcast your presence even when you navigate away from the page or close the app. According to Telegram, this can be used to help you make new friends in the area but does warn you that leaving this on may result in attracting unwarranted attention, so use it wisely.

The update is now available for Android and iOS in the respective app stores.
